Schwartz Fires Back at XRP 'Ghost Chain' Claims, Highlights XRPL's Utility
Ripple CTO Emeritus David Schwartz fired back at criticism of the XRP Ledger, calling it a 'ghost chain' due to its low-value transaction activity. According to Schwartz, less than 1% of transactions on the XRP Ledger over the last eight years were made by real humans.
Schwarz highlighted the XRP Ledger's cheap fees, which make it attractive to various users. He posed a question to the critic: 'If it were more expensive and fewer people did low-value things on it, would that somehow make it better?'
The XRP Ledger continues to grow in terms of usage, with its distributed real-world asset market cap reaching $458.37 million. The total agentic transactions on the platform have surpassed 4.8 million.
