Schwartz Sees XRP Outpacing Bitcoin Through Compound Growth
Ripple's CTO Emeritus David Schwartz thinks XRP can surpass Bitcoin in market capitalization, but not by shrinking Bitcoin's value. Instead, he believes XRP will grow faster than Bitcoin and become larger.
According to Schwartz, a flip would occur when XRP's usage compounds faster than Bitcoin's monetary premium compounds. He noted that this is possible on an expanding digital-asset market where major tokens can rise together.
Schwartz pointed out that XRPL's features such as faster settlement and more functionality give it an edge over Bitcoin's base layer, which he believes cannot carry the load of increasing demand for payments, tokenization, and on-ledger finance.
The current market capitalization gap between XRP and Bitcoin is approximately $1.49 trillion, with BTC near $1.58-$1.59 trillion and XRP around $89 billion. However, Schwartz emphasized that his opinion is not a prediction of when or if XRP will reach a specific price target.
