SEC Cancels Crypto Rule Vote Amid Senate Recess and Clarity Act Delay
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) canceled a meeting scheduled for Friday to discuss new crypto-related rules, known as Regulation Crypto.
The decision was made due to an unforeseen scheduling issue, according to an SEC spokesperson.
The proposed regulation would establish a bespoke offering regime for digital asset investment contracts under the Securities Act.
The delay comes as the Senate left Washington on Saturday for a five-week recess without voting on the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, which is the sector's top legislative priority.
