SEC Cancels Reg Crypto Meeting, Crypto Market Unfazed
The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) cancelled its meeting to propose Reg Crypto at the last minute, citing an unforeseen scheduling issue.
The cancellation delays the start of rulemaking rather than killing the policy, but it also means issuers still have no idea what eligibility standards, disclosure rules or restrictions any exemption would carry.
Despite the uncertainty, the crypto market barely reacted, with total market cap sitting at around $2.18 trillion, essentially flat on the day, and Bitcoin dominance holding near 58.45 percent.
