SEC Clears Blockchain, Others for Crypto Regulation in Nigeria's Accelerated Sandbox
Nigeria's Securities and Exchange Commission has cleared Blockchain, Pisi Payments Solution Limited, and Yellow Card Financial Limited to participate in its Accelerated Regulatory Incubation Programme.
The programme is a regulatory sandbox designed to test digital asset business models under supervision before receiving full authorization.
Blockchain sees Nigeria as an important market for its services, with over 95 million wallets and $1.2tn processed through its platform in more than 70 jurisdictions worldwide.
Owen Odia, General Manager for Africa at Blockchain, stated that participating in the programme is 'an important step forward' in the company's long-term commitment to Nigeria.
