The SEC's Crypto Task Force is scrutinizing how cryptocurrency exchanges verify tokens before listing them. The task force met with Clique and Guidry Law on September 1 to discuss token-listing due diligence.

Clique presented a framework that helps platforms compare issuer claims with blockchain records and identify potential inconsistencies. This framework covers wallet links, ownership concentration, token distribution, and on-chain activity.

The SEC did not endorse Clique's framework, but the meeting shows the task force is examining how existing securities rules could apply across different parts of the crypto industry. The discussion follows recent meetings with WisdomTree, Offchain Labs, and Hyperliquid.
