SEC Delays Leveraged Short XRP ETF Until October 11
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has delayed again the launch of Teucrium's proposed leveraged short XRP ETF, pushing back its effective date to October 11, 2026. This is the latest in a series of regulatory reviews that have been ongoing for over a year.
Unlike some reports, this delay does not necessarily mean the fund will be rejected. The SEC has simply moved the registration's effective date again, keeping alive the possibility that the fund may eventually launch on October 11 or at some later date.
The proposed Teucrium 2x Short Daily XRP ETF is designed to deliver negative two times XRP's daily price performance before fees and expenses. If XRP falls 1% in a day, the fund would seek approximately a 2% gain; if XRP rises 1%, it would seek roughly a 2% loss.
