SEC Delays Truth Social Bitcoin ETF Decision Until September
The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has delayed its decision on Truth Social's Bitcoin ETF, pushing it back until September 18. The agency cited the need for more time to consider the proposed rule change and related issues.
Truth Social, operated by Trump Media & Technology Group, filed for the ETF in June. If approved, this would mark a significant development in crypto activity linked to President Trump, following his involvement with meme coins and World Liberty Financial's backing.
The SEC initially greenlit spot Bitcoin ETFs in January 2024, with 12 funds accumulating over $54.8 billion in inflows since then.
