SEC Examines Token Listing Vetting with Clique Framework
The SEC's Crypto Task Force is examining how crypto platforms vet tokens before listing them. The task force met with Clique and C Guidry Law on September 1 to discuss token-listing due diligence.
Clique presented a framework covering wallet links, ownership concentration, token distribution, and onchain activity. This framework helps platforms compare issuer claims with blockchain records and identify potential inconsistencies.
The SEC did not endorse this framework, nor does it create new requirements for token listings. The discussion follows recent meetings with WisdomTree, Offchain Labs, and Hyperliquid to examine how existing securities rules could apply across different parts of the crypto industry.
