SEC May Outdo CLARITY Act with Favorable Crypto Rules
Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan believes that even if the CLARITY Act stalls, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) may introduce rules that could be more favorable to the crypto industry.
Hougan's comments come as the bill faces an uncertain path before Congress's August recess.
The SEC may issue its own regulations and guidance under existing securities laws, potentially defining digital asset classifications and creating a more favorable environment for crypto innovation.
