SEC Official Supports Clarity Act While Pushing Forward with Crypto Rules
SEC Commissioner Hester M. Peirce's Clarity Act has received backing from another key regulator in the US, SEC official Gurbir S. Grewal. The Clarity Act is a bill aimed at clarifying the regulatory status of digital assets under securities laws.
In an interview with CoinDesk, SEC Commissioner Hester M. Peirce's Clarity Act supporter, Gurbir S. Grewal, stated that he supports the bill but emphasized that the agency will continue to push forward with crypto rules regardless of its passage.
Gurbir S. Grewal said: 'We're going to keep moving forward with our rulemaking efforts, and if Congress passes the Clarity Act, it would be great.' He added that the agency is working on a proposal for digital asset custody rules, which will be released soon.
