SEC Prepares to Unveil Proposed Crypto Rules
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is set to hold an open meeting on August 14 at 10:00 a.m. ET to discuss proposed rules for certain investment contracts involving crypto assets.
The meeting will consider whether to propose a tailored offering regime for these contracts, which could provide clearer guidelines for issuers and reduce regulatory uncertainty.
The SEC's agenda includes proposals for broker dealer financial responsibility and crypto market structure rulemaking, as well as the potential creation of a startup exemption and a larger fundraising exemption.
