SEC Proposes Crypto Custody Rule Overhaul Amid Institutional Adoption
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has taken another step towards modernizing its crypto custody rules for investment advisers and registered funds.
A proposal to overhaul these rules was sent to the White House Office of Management and Budget on August 25, marking a significant milestone in the regulatory process.
The draft aims to clarify the framework for holding digital assets by investment advisers and companies, removing certain outdated requirements that no longer apply in today's market.
