SEC Proposes 'Reg Crypto' Rules Boosting ETH, SOL, and BNB
The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has proposed new regulations for token sales, dubbed 'Reg Crypto.' The plan aims to bring clarity and stability to the crypto market by creating two fundraising lanes: one-time $5 million over four years or up to $75 million per year with financial statements and ongoing reports. This shift could be a game-changer for US founders and investors, who have been largely shut out of token sales since 2018.
According to Grayscale, the largest asset manager in the crypto space, the new regulations will benefit Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), and BNB Chain. In fact, Grayscale has already made BNB its largest fund holding in its Smart Contract Fund, with a 30.6% weighting.
The market is already reacting positively to the news. ETH has jumped 15% in 24 hours to around $2,179, while SOL trades near $87 and BNB near $630. This surge suggests that investors are anticipating increased adoption and fundraising opportunities for crypto, DeFi, and token launches.
