SEC Proposes Regulation Crypto Assets to Revive Token Fundraising
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has proposed Regulation Crypto Assets, also known as Reg Crypto, to provide clearer guidelines on token fundraising.
This move could revive a fundraising avenue that shifted offshore during the ICO boom years, said Grayscale.
The framework emphasizes newly minted tokens for fundraising, not tokenized shares of an existing stock or other securities. This could provide a fresh way for projects to secure financing in the United States.
Ethereum, Solana, and BNB Chain are expected to capture more activity if U.S. token issuance accelerates.
