SEC Readies Own Crypto Regulations Amid Congressional Delay on CLARITY Act
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is preparing to implement regulatory measures for the crypto market if Congress delays the passage of the CLARITY Act.
According to SEC Chair Paul Atkins, the agency has the authority to act within its current guidelines, but he emphasized that legislation would provide a more stable framework for the industry.
The CLARITY Act aims to clarify the regulatory landscape for digital assets and has already passed the Senate Banking Committee with a 15-9 vote. However, it still awaits a full Senate vote, leaving the market in a state of uncertainty.
