SEC Regulation Crypto Assets Proposal Triggers Disclosure Discussions Amid Apeing Presale

Share

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) proposed Regulation Crypto Assets on August 18, sparking discussions about disclosure requirements for crypto projects. The proposal suggests two potential caps: $5 million over four years or $75 million in 12 months.

Apeing, a project centered around meme culture and community participation, is preparing for a presale with a $0.0001 Stage 1 price and more than 12,000 whitelist registrations. The project's planned audits and expected early-September timing are separate from the SEC's proposal.

The proposed regulation is not yet law, and comments on the draft are due October 20. Apeing has not claimed to use an SEC route, instead focusing on its own pre-launch story.
