SEC to Vote on Proposed Crypto Offering Rules August 14

Share

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is taking its first formal step toward creating rules specifically for crypto fundraising.

The SEC will vote on August 14 whether to release its proposed crypto offering rules for public comment.

The proposal, informally known as 'Regulation Crypto Assets,' or 'Reg Crypto,' would provide regulatory relief by creating exemptions for smaller token offerings and larger crypto fundraises.

For the crypto industry, which has been waiting for clearer rules for years, this is a major step toward greater clarity.
