SEC's Crypto Task Force Discusses Tokenized Fund Regulation with WisdomTree

Share

The Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) Crypto Task Force met with representatives from WisdomTree and Thorn Run Partners on August 12 to discuss regulatory issues related to crypto assets.

The meeting covered three main areas: tokenized fund markets, wallet onboarding for tokenized funds, and SEC rulemaking and guidance for tokenized assets. The attendees from WisdomTree included Ryan Louvar, Chief Legal Officer and Head of Business & Legal Affairs; Rohan Ranadive, Head of Risk Management; Jason Guthrie, Head of Product, Digital Assets; and Shilpa Raina, Chief Compliance Officer and AML Officer.

The meeting came ahead of an SEC open meeting scheduled for August 14 to consider a tailored offering regime for certain investment contracts involving crypto assets. If approved, this would begin the formal rulemaking process.
