Securitize Capital Registers as SEC-Approved Investment Adviser
Securitize Capital, a subsidiary of Securitize, has strengthened its position in the regulated tokenization market after registering as an investment adviser with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). This move comes at a time when regulators are examining how traditional investment adviser rules apply to emerging crypto investment products.
Citing the need for institutional investors and asset managers to work with partners that understand both the opportunity of tokenization and the obligations that come with operating in regulated markets, Securitize CEO Carlos Domingo noted that 'Asset managers and institutional investors want to work with partners that understand both the opportunity of tokenization and the obligations that come with operating in regulated markets.'
With this registration, Securitize's US platform now combines investment advisory services with broker-dealer, ATS, transfer agent, and fund administration capabilities. This expanded framework is expected to support on-chain portfolio strategies for institutional investors.
