Securitize Gains Full RIA Status, Expanding Onchain Advisory Mandates
Securitize Capital has registered as a full investment adviser with the SEC, marking a significant milestone in its expansion of onchain capital markets. This move upgrades the firm from exempt reporting adviser status, allowing it to serve a wider range of institutional clients and mandates.
The registration enables Securitize to offer advisory services for asset managers, institutional investors, and other sophisticated market participants. This is a key component of the firm's vertically integrated infrastructure, which already includes an SEC-registered broker-dealer, alternative trading system, transfer agent, and fund administration services.
Securitize has established relationships with major institutional asset managers such as BlackRock, Apollo, KKR, VanEck, and Hamilton Lane. The firm's existing franchise in tokenized assets is approximately $4.8 billion, and the advisory registration will allow it to formalize the advisory wrapper around these relationships.
The SEC registration also makes structuring and managing tokenized credit strategies more straightforward from a regulatory standpoint. This mirrors trends in institutional crypto infrastructure, where traditional capital is committing infrastructure spend to onchain markets despite imperfect regulatory clarity.
