Securitize Sees $2 Trillion Opportunity in Public Equity Tokenization
Securitize believes there's an untapped opportunity in native tokenization of public equities, estimating that a mere 2% migration could generate a $2 trillion market. This is roughly equal to the size of the entire crypto market combined.
To put this figure into perspective, U.S. equities and ETFs are worth over $100 trillion, while tokenized equities currently account for just $2 billion globally.
The majority of existing tokenized equities are synthetic instruments or offshore assets, which means shareholders often lack full legal ownership rights. Securitize's 'native tokenization' model, on the other hand, allows issuers to sponsor tokens and grant shareholders complete rights, including voting and dividends.
Securitize has already put this model into practice by tokenizing its own shares on Solana and Avalanche during its NYSE listing in July 2026. This issuance was valued between $266 million and $295 million, making it the largest tokenized equity issuance at that time.
