The Senate is set to vote on Tuesday on legislation that aims to create a regulatory framework for cryptocurrency, but Democrats have expressed opposition unless it includes strong ethics safeguards.

The $2.3 trillion crypto market has become a major political force, and President Donald Trump's investments in the sector have drawn criticism from lawmakers.

Trump's family has profited significantly from their involvement in World Liberty Financial, a crypto firm co-founded with his special envoy Steve Witkoff, reporting more than $500 million in revenue from crypto products last year.

Democrats, led by Sen. Elizabeth Warren, have vowed to block the bill unless it includes provisions that would prevent Trump and his family from enriching themselves through their investments.
