Senate Delay Crypto Bill Vote Until September
US Senate leaders are delaying a vote on crypto market structure legislation until at least September. The delay, reported by Politico, means that one of the industry's top priorities remains unresolved.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune confirmed that the chamber will not vote on the bill before its August recess. Thune cited Democratic opposition as the reason for the delay, saying 'The Dems are insistent on no Clarity vote.'
The postponement leaves American crypto users and builders at risk, according to Crypto Council for Innovation CEO Ji Hun Kim. Kim said that every day without a federal framework pushes users offshore.
