Senate Delays Clarity Act Vote Until September, Impacting Law Chances
The U.S. Senate has put off voting on the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act (H.R. 3633), also known as the Clarity Act, until after its August recess.
This delay has led to a decrease in market confidence regarding the bill's chances of becoming law by the end of 2026.
The Clarity Act aims to establish clear regulatory frameworks for digital assets and had previously been approved by the House in July 2025 and advanced by the Senate Banking Committee in May 2026.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune stated that a floor vote is unlikely to occur before the Senate reconvenes, pushing the earliest possibility for consideration to September.
