Congress faces a critical week as it prepares to vote on the Clarity Act, a bill that would create the first comprehensive federal framework for regulating the US crypto industry.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong urged lawmakers to pass the legislation, saying clear regulations would protect consumers and provide law enforcement with additional tools.

The Blockchain Association also rejected claims that the bill weakens anti-money laundering enforcement, stating it maintains strong compliance requirements for crypto intermediaries.

Negotiations continue over ethics provisions requested by Democratic lawmakers, but the Blockchain Association says its latest letter aims to resolve remaining concerns outside of this debate.
