Senate Faces Final Push on CLARITY Act as Recess Deadline Looms
The CLARITY Act is at a critical juncture in the U.S. Senate as lawmakers face a final push to advance the legislation before recess. With only one day left, supporters are urging their senators to contact them and secure the 60 votes needed for the bill's procedural vote.
According to Stand With Crypto, a crypto advocacy organization focused on policy engagement, this is the last chance to get the CLARITY Act moving forward. The group has called on its supporters to call their senators now, emphasizing that 'the window is still open'.
U.S. Senate Banking Committee Chairman Tim Scott (R-SC) has highlighted the momentum behind the CLARITY Act, stating that lawmakers have gained additional Republican support during discussions. He also expressed confidence in Leader Thune's ability to tee up a vote before the recess, saying 'the good news is we have the time to get it done'.
The push for Senate action comes as the crypto industry has been calling for clearer regulatory standards. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Strategy Executive Chairman Michael Saylor are among those who have urged lawmakers to pass the CLARITY Act, arguing that clear rules would help establish a stronger foundation for the U.S. cryptocurrency industry.
