Senate Puts Crypto Clarity Bill On Hold Until September
The U.S. Senate has delayed its vote on the CLARITY Act, a bipartisan bill aimed at providing regulatory clarity for the crypto market.
Lawmakers failed to reach an agreement before the August recess, and several unresolved issues remain, including a bipartisan ethics proposal led by Senators Thom Tillis and Ruben Gallego.
The White House has begun engaging on the proposal after several days of discussions, although negotiations remain ongoing.
Congress is now in recess until September, leaving three possible scenarios for the CLARITY Act: continued negotiations, revised legislative language before a new vote, or additional delays due to a busy legislative calendar and election campaigning.
