Senate Races to Pass Crypto Market Structure Bill Before Recess Deadline

Senate Majority Leader John Thune said on August 3 that he expects a vote on market structure legislation, but the bill has seen no action since June 1.

H.R. 3633, the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, passed the House with a 294-134 vote on July 17 and was placed on the Senate calendar on June 1.

A merged Senate text released on July 22 bars covered officials from issuing or sponsoring digital assets in exchange for consideration, but expires on January 20, 2029.
