Senate Republicans Release Updated Crypto Bill with Stricter Ethics Provisions
U.S. Senate Republicans have released an updated version of their crypto bill, The Clarity Act, which addresses concerns from Democrats and the banking industry.
The new text includes 126 substantive changes made at the request of Democrats, including stricter restrictions on public officeholders profiting off their own crypto ventures.
Senator Cynthia Lummis said in a statement that the bill is ready for a vote after 'a year of intense daily bipartisan negotiations.'
However, it's unclear if the updated bill has enough support to pass a key procedural vote on Tuesday, which could determine its fate.
