Senate Revises CLARITY Act Ahead of September 15 Vote
The Senate has revised the CLARITY Act ahead of its September 15 vote. The bill now includes registration requirements for trading protocols that are controlled or non-decentralized, which will be overseen by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
The revised draft adds a registration framework for protocols that fall outside the bill's decentralization threshold.
H.R. 3633, formally titled the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, has undergone changes in its text since the initial release. The new version directs the CFTC and Treasury to write rules for covered trading protocols.
