Senate Set to Vote on CLARITY Act Amid Bipartisan Disputes Over Crypto Regulation
The U.S. Senate is set to vote on the CLARITY Act, a bill that aims to establish a federal regulatory framework for digital assets and clarify which ones should be regulated as securities or commodities.
The legislation, formally known as the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act (H.R. 3633), has already passed in the House with a vote of 294 to 134 in July 2025.
However, the Senate version has become complicated due to disagreements between Democrats and Republicans over consumer protection, President Trump's relationship with the cryptocurrency industry, and banking stability.
Supporters argue that clearer rules would provide regulatory certainty for the industry, allowing financial innovation to develop in the United States.
