Senate Unveils Revised Clarity Act Ahead of Crucial Vote
Senate Republicans have released a revised version of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act (CLARITY Act), also known as H.R. 3633, just hours before its cloture vote on Tuesday afternoon. The bill has been in negotiation for over a year, with Democrats and Republicans working to reach a consensus.
The latest draft incorporates 126 substantive changes requested by Democratic negotiators, including revised ethics rules that align with the Trump-backed Tillis-Gallego framework. Under this proposal, covered federal officials and their spouses would be required to divest significant crypto-related financial interests or place them in a qualified blind trust.
The CLARITY Act aims to provide clarity on digital asset market structure and regulation, addressing concerns from industry stakeholders and lawmakers alike. The bill also includes changes to the Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act (BRCA), stablecoin yield, and agriculture title, which received tighter guardrails on vertical integration rules.
