Senate Vote Delay Sends Clarity Act Odds Tumbling to 13.5%
The U.S. Senate has delayed its vote on the Clarity Act until after its August recess, dealing a blow to hopes for its passage in 2026.
The bill, which aims to establish clear regulatory frameworks for digital assets, was approved by the House in July 2025 and advanced by the Senate Banking Committee in May 2026.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune indicated that a floor vote is unlikely before the Senate reconvenes, pushing the earliest possibility for consideration to September.
This postponement has significantly impacted prediction markets, with the odds of the Act being signed into law by the end of 2026 falling sharply from 26% to 13.5% in just one week.
