Senate Vote Looms for CLARITY Act as Lawmakers Near Agreement

Share

House Financial Services Chairman French Hill says lawmakers have made significant progress towards resolving differences on the CLARITY Act. He believes the Senate now has enough support to move the bill forward.

The CLARITY Act, which aims to clarify regulatory uncertainty in the crypto market, previously cleared the House with 78 Democratic votes. The bill's path through the House demonstrated bipartisan appeal, but its fate in the Senate remains uncertain.

Hill identified the ethics provision as the remaining major sticking point between the two chambers. When asked directly whether the necessary Senate support could finally exist, Hill's answer was essentially 'yes, it could.' The Senate vote is scheduled for September 15 at 3 PM.
