Senate Vote on Crypto Regulation Bill Looms on September 15

Share

Ripple's Chief Legal Officer Stuart Alderoty is sounding the alarm about the importance of passing the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act in the US Senate.

The bill, which aims to clarify crypto regulation by defining agency roles and digital asset categories, has already passed the House but faces a crucial cloture vote on September 15. Alderoty warned that failure to pass it could leave the US behind in crypto regulation and expose the market to fraud.

The Digital Asset Market Clarity Act seeks to resolve conflicts between the SEC and CFTC and includes exemptions for some stablecoins. Achieving the required 60 votes is challenging, with bipartisan support necessary for progress.
