Senate Votes Loom Over Cryptocurrency Regulation Bill

The Senate is set to vote on legislation that would create a new regulatory framework for cryptocurrency. The bill aims to give crypto firms legal certainty and protect consumers by creating a broad set of guardrails and regulatory requirements.

However, many Democrats are opposed to the bill unless it includes strong ethics safeguards to prevent President Donald Trump's investments from enriching himself while in office.

Trump has amassed significant crypto wealth since taking office, including more than $500 million in revenue from World Liberty Financial sales of crypto products. His family also has a controlling stake in the company.

Senator Elizabeth Warren said that the bill should not allow Trump to continue profiting from his investments while working families struggle with higher prices and an economy that is getting worse by the day.
