Senate's Tight Deadline for Crypto Regulation Bill
A regulation bill known as Clarity has a limited window to advance through the U.S. Senate before Congress goes into recess next week.
The bill aims to give the crypto market a more defined legal framework, something exchanges and developers have been lacking due to the lack of clear federal rules.
Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan said that even if the bill fails to pass this week, 'crypto will be fine', suggesting the industry's trajectory is not reliant on a single piece of legislation.
The recess means any resolution would be pushed well into the summer if the Senate does not act in the next few days, which could matter for companies waiting on regulatory guidance before launching new products or entering the U.S. market.
