September 15 Senate Vote on CLARITY Act Could Bring Regulatory Clarity

The US Senate is set to vote on the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act on September 15, 2026. This legislation aims to establish clearer federal rules for cryptocurrencies and draw boundaries between the SEC and CFTC in digital-asset markets.

XRP investors are closely watching this development as regulatory certainty has particular significance for the asset after years of litigation and debate over its classification.

The CLARITY Act is not expected to classify XRP or immediately change its legal status, but a successful cloture vote would allow the Senate process to continue. If the bill passes, it will face further debate, amendments, and votes before becoming law.

Institutional demand for XRP has been building, with US spot XRP ETFs attracting $110.49 million during the week ending August 28. The total cumulative inflows have climbed to roughly $1.66 billion, despite XRP's spot price slipping back toward $1.38.
