September Breakout: Bitcoin ETFs See Record Inflows Amid Changing Economic Landscape
Bitcoin ETFs have seen significant inflows in September, a month historically known to be unfavorable for the crypto market. According to Bitget, spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $730.8 million in net inflows on September 3rd, the strongest single-day influx since January 14th.
The largest contributor was BlackRock's IBIT with approximately $454 million, followed by ARK 21Shares' ARKB at $137.7 million and Fidelity's FBTC at $74.4 million. Other funds also experienced smaller inflows, while VanEck and WisdomTree saw modest outflows.
September's performance is in stark contrast to previous years, when the month was characterized by losses for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. This year, however, the changing macroeconomic environment has provided a boost, with Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller making dovish comments on September 3rd.
The price of Bitcoin surged following these comments, with many analysts attributing this to the reduced expectations around U.S. monetary policy. Despite this surge, some experts caution that volatility remains high and that $80k may now become a support line rather than resistance.
