Sequans Sells Almost Half Its Remaining Bitcoin Holdings
Sequans Communications, an IoT semiconductor company listed on the NYSE under ticker SQNS, has significantly reduced its Bitcoin holdings. In Q2 2026, it sold 344 BTC and plans to divest the remaining 314 BTC.
The Paris-based company launched its Bitcoin treasury program in July 2025 with a purchase of 370 BTC. At peak accumulation, it held over 3,200 BTC but has now reduced this number by roughly 90%.
Sequans used proceeds from Bitcoin sales to fully redeem all convertible debt issued in July 2025. The company reported Q2 2026 revenue of $7.5 million, a 23% increase quarter-over-quarter, and a realized net gain of $5.3 million from its Bitcoin sales.
Sequans CEO Dr. Georges Karam framed the move as deliberate portfolio management, saying the company continues to 'manage and monetize its Bitcoin position' while pivoting focus back to core operations.
