The Singapore Exchange (SGX) has secured CFTC authorization to offer its bitcoin and ether perpetual futures to US institutional investors, marking a significant milestone in bridging the gap between American trading desks and Asian liquidity pools.

The SGX's crypto derivatives head, KC Lam, described this development as 'an important milestone' that legitimizes crypto derivatives as a regulated asset class.

The exchange's bitcoin (BTP) and ether (ETP) perpetual futures have seen significant trading volume since their launch in November 2025, with $5.8 billion in cumulative traded volume and a daily average of $19 million across both contracts.
