SGX Seeks Green Light for Crypto Perpetuals in US Market
Singapore Exchange Ltd. (SGX) is taking steps to offer cryptocurrency perpetual futures to US institutions, marking a significant milestone in bringing crypto's favorite trades to mainstream markets.
According to reports, SGX filed with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission last month to offer these contracts to US investors. As a registered overseas exchange, it can do so if it receives no objection within 10 days.
This move is expected to give SGX access to a deeper pool of hedge funds, asset managers, and proprietary trading firms, building on its previous launch of Bitcoin and Ether perpetual futures in November last year.
