SGX Seeks US Approval for Crypto Perpetual Futures
Singapore Exchange Ltd. is poised to offer its cryptocurrency perpetual futures to US institutions, marking a significant milestone in the mainstream adoption of crypto's favorite trades.
The exchange filed with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission last month to offer these contracts to US investors and has received no objection within the required 10-day period.
This move gives SGX access to a deeper pool of hedge funds, asset managers, and proprietary trading firms after the exchange launched Bitcoin and Ether perpetual futures last November. As an overseas registered exchange, SGX can offer these products to US institutions without needing additional approval.
