SGX Unlocks U.S. Access for Bitcoin and Ether Perpetual Futures
SGX is opening its Bitcoin and Ether perpetual futures to eligible U.S. institutional investors after receiving authorization from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
The move gives American institutions access to SGX's existing crypto derivatives market, connecting U.S. trading desks with liquidity built around the Asian trading day.
SGX launched the two perpetual contracts in November 2025 and has since generated about $5.8 billion in cumulative trading volume, according to figures reported by The Business Times.
KC Lam, head of crypto derivatives at SGX Group, said U.S. participants previously could not trade the contracts but can now gain direct access following the regulatory authorization.
