SGX Wins CFTC Approval for US Access to BTC, ETH Perpetual Futures
The Singapore Exchange (SGX) has received approval from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission to allow American institutions to trade its Bitcoin and Ethereum perpetual futures.
This green light comes under Regulation 48.10, which lets a registered Foreign Board of Trade open its existing order books to U.S. participants without setting up a separate U.S. exchange.
SGX launched its BTP and ETP contracts in late November 2025 and has seen $5.8 billion in cumulative traded volume since then.
U.S. clearing members are expected to begin onboarding clients within the next one to two months, with new clients still undergoing standard checks before they can trade.
