SharpLink Bets Big on Lido's Liquid-Staking Protocol
SharpLink, a Miami-based digital asset treasury company, is staking $200 million of Ethereum through Lido's liquid-staking protocol. This move involves approximately 106,000 ETH, which accounts for about 12% of the ~889,000 ETH SharpLink held as of early August.
Lido's wstETH allows SharpLink to earn staking yield while maintaining liquidity and using its position across DeFi. The underlying ETH continues to accrue rewards, and the wrapper can be posted as collateral or traded without unstaking. Lido runs a majority of all liquid-staked ETH, with roughly $16.5 billion staked through the protocol.
This move is part of SharpLink's 2026 strategy, which focuses on staking as a core aspect of its Ethereum holdings. The firm has grown its stack past 880,000 ETH, worth approximately $1.68 billion, earlier this year. By leveraging Lido's liquid-staking protocol, SharpLink aims to deepen its diversification and gain access to one of the most liquid and widely integrated assets in Ethereum DeFi.
According to Vasiliy Shapovalov, Executive Director at Lido Labs Foundation, 'I'm excited to see SharpLink increasing the use of Ethereum native staking protocols and the DeFi ecosystem. Being bullish ETH is being bullish on major Ethereum-based applications.'
