SharpLink CEO Slams EIP-8363 Proposal as Harmful to DeFi

SharpLink CEO Joseph Chalom has spoken out against Ethereum's EIP-8363 proposal, which would gradually burn validator rewards to curb staking on the network.

In a post on X, Chalom argued that this move would damage the DeFi ecosystem and undercut momentum in institutional capital inflows at a critical time.

According to Chalom, Ethereum's staking yield serves as a benchmark interest rate for the on-chain market, and cutting it would raise the cost of capital and push real returns toward zero.

This, he claimed, would drive collateral and network activity elsewhere, ultimately harming Ethereum's competitiveness.
