Sharplink Drops $91 Million into Ethereum Treasury
Sharplink Gaming has continued its aggressive strategy of accumulating and staking Ethereum (ETH), adding another 39,319 ETH worth approximately $91 million to its treasury. This move brings Sharplink's total holdings to a significant amount, nearing the 900,000 ether mark.
The company's CEO, Joseph Chalom, has stated that their strategy centers around increasing ETH per share, and they have been successful in generating revenue from staking despite facing losses in recent quarters. In Q2 2026, Sharplink generated $11.2 million in staking revenue, which offset some of the company's net loss.
Sharplink is not alone in its focus on staking, as a report by Bitcoin.com News found that staking made up about 60% of reported revenue among a group of six companies, despite their combined losses topping $1.4 billion. The company has also seeded a $125 million Galaxy Sharplink Onchain Yield Fund with $100 million of staked ETH to diversify its earnings.
Sharplink's aggressive strategy has not gone unnoticed, and institutional ownership in SBET has climbed towards 60%. This suggests that the market is underwriting the bet that Sharplink can continue to compound ether per share even through volatile quarters.
