SharpLink Suffers $394 Million Loss from Ether Holdings Despite Revenue Growth
SharpLink, a company that has been accumulating Ethereum (ETH), has reported a net loss of $394.3 million in the second quarter of 2026. The main factor behind this loss is a latent loss of $321 million on its Ether holdings due to the decline in ETH price during the quarter.
Despite this heavy accounting loss, SharpLink's revenues have increased to $11.5 million, with $11.2 million coming from ETH staking. The company continues to accumulate ETH, holding about 886,881 ETH at the end of June and increasing its reserve by buying more ETH despite a 6% drop in its SBET share price.
SharpLink's strategy around Ethereum assets includes buying back shares, with about 2.1 million shares canceled during the quarter, and contributing $100 million from its treasury to staking through an on-chain yield fund launched with Galaxy Digital.
